Except, taking a photograph, and making a photograph, are two entirely different things (like going for a walk on a sidewalk, versus going for a walk on a tightrope). Walking a tightrope requires one to dance with gravity. Making a photograph requires one to dance with composition.

Dancing with composition (like dancing with gravity) is not about consulting rules or laws. It’s about defying them. Following them is easy. Breaking them is like a performance-enhancing drug for photographers.
