Netflix worthy curriculum.

More than 50 binge-worthy episodes, woven into one immersive, transformational experience—delivered in the most human, entertaining, and occasionally ridiculous way only Two Mann can.

This is where it all begins — the foundation, the launchpad, the ignition switch.

Before we dive into the tools, techniques, mindset shifts, and creative breakthroughs, we lay down the essential bedrock for a transformational mentorship. These first few chapters set the tone for everything that follows, calibrating your eyes, expectations, and creative compass so you’re tuned in, opened up, and primed for impact.

If you don’t have a raging fire lit up under your ass by the end of these chapters, we’ll send you a full refund. Seriously!

This is where we take you inside our brains — because perspective is everything. Mindset shapes everything you do with your camera, your subjects, your lighting, your editing… and every part of being a photographer. This isn’t about cameras or settings (yet) — it’s about the foundation, the philosophy, the way we see life as an act of noticing and connecting. This is about building the mindset that will carry you through all the creative breakthroughs ahead.

Now we get into gear — literally. We’re cutting through all the hype and simplifying the technical bullshit so your camera feels simple… and fun. That way, you can focus on what really matters: seeing, creating, and being present in your life as a photographer. We’ll show you how to set up your camera for simplicity, creativity, and performance, and cover the basics of shooting in manual mode (totally optional).

Don’t worry — even if all you have is a phone, this unit will completely transform how you use it (and what comes out of it).

Here, we take a deep dive into the one thing that makes photography possible — light. We’re going to awaken a sixth sense in you, so you’ll never notice it the same way again. The subtle magic hiding in plain sight — the glow, the shadows, the highlights that make life sing. Once you see it… you can’t unsee it. And your photography will never be the same.

This is where we demystify the art and craft of composition — not with stuffy rules, but with simple, practical problem-solving. You’ll learn to frame stories with intention, move your body, trust your instincts, and create frames that feel alive, imperfect, and totally you.

A deep dive into the nuanced art of noticing—and capturing—the truth in real, unscripted moments. The fleeting gestures, subtle breaths, and tiny expressions that make photos (and life) come alive. You’ll learn to harness presence, observation, patience (and a little luck) so your images don’t just record a scene—they reveal a feeling.

Nailing light, composition, and timing—all in a single, unforgettable frame… that’s the holy trinity, baby! And that’s our goal here.

Now the fun really begins. Welcome to the Two Mann Toolbox—our big bad bag of tricks. This is where we unpack all the tools and techniques we use to make photos that wow: silhouettes, chiaroscuro, backlight, rim light, shadow play, motion blur, creative reflections, layered storytelling… everything broken down to make your camera do things you never thought possible.

More fancy tools, more tricks, and most importantly… our Secret Weapon: how to use these techniques to enhance the story, not distract from it. How to make it about them and their story—not you and your camera.

Grab your popcorn… you’re going behind the scenes with Erika as she photographs our family in real life. Watch a full weekend of documentary-style shooting with our kids, nieces, and nephews—indoors and out. It’s raw. It’s real. And it’s pure gold for learning how to photograph life as it actually happens. You’ll see every principle from the course unfold naturally here—in messy, beautiful, unpredictable chaos. Presence, intuition, and storytelling… in action.

All about workflow and showing you simple systems for downloading, organizing, backing up, and curating your images—so they don’t get lost in the digital abyss and are still easy to find 20 years from now.

We’ll also show you how to give your images physical weight—on walls, in albums, and in your life—so they live on for generations.

Step into Lanny’s editing room and discover how to turn your raw images into impactful works of art. You’ll learn simple, powerful techniques for bringing your photos to life—without overcooking them, or overcomplicating the process.

Finally, we bring it all full circle with one last gift to tie everything together… some final fuzzies to help land the ship at the end of your voyage (which is really just the beginning…).

Let’s answer your questions and squash those doubts. If your question isn’t listed below, just text or call us at 403-678-7881.

If you are a beginner—lucky you! Photography for Life is literally the exact program we wish we had been able to take advantage of when our kids were still tiny. We’d have found our way faster and captured so many more incredible photos from those early years.

Photography for Life is NOT too advanced for you. We distill it everything down for you, demystifying all the needlessly complicated concepts, and make your camera feel simple and fun. Even if you’ve never touched a camera, you’ll get it.

Your whole extraordinary ordinary life is ahead of you. Oh, the photos you’ll make!
We’re ready to take you under our wings, and make sure you fly.

“I’m new to photography, but any anxiety of feeling intimidated immediately dissipated. I’ve taken a few workshops and this is the best one for learning practical skills and creative techniques. Lanny & Erika teach you how to see scenes differently, and to find deeper meaning in what you shoot. Their workshop was an excellent investment in my personal growth as a photographer. I left with more confidence, new skills in my toolbox, and a whole new perspective of how to “see.” My photography has grown exponentially as a result.”

Think you’ve got nothing left to learn? Nowhere new to climb?
Think again.

If you’re a seasoned pro (like us)… Photography for Life was made for you too.
It’s what we need to hear.
It’s the re-igniter you didn’t see coming.

It’s about bridging the gap between the work you’re making now…
and the work you know you’re capable of making—
deeper, more meaningful, more complex, more subtle.
We believe our greatest work is still ahead of us, and we know yours is too.
There are reservoirs of untapped potential in you that you haven’t even met yet.

And reaching those new levels?
That’s what we do best.

We’ve trained hundreds of top pros—including 28 of the “Top 100 Fearless Photographers in the World.”
We move the needle by exposing blind spots, validating struggles, challenging beliefs, revealing fresh ways of thinking, and reigniting creative purpose behind the lens.

Ultimately, Photography for Life isn’t about learning new tricks
(although—don’t worry—we’ve got plenty of those).
It’s about shifting how you see and how you think.
Change your perspective… change everything.

And here’s the truth:
The photographers who often need the biggest shake-up…
are the seasoned pros.
(We say that with love… and from experience.)

Your everyday life is the ultimate photography project.
And shooting clients is a completely different game than shooting your own life.
This course will show you that your greatest work isn’t behind you…
It’s in front of you.

The single most impactful thing I’ve done photographically in 20 years.”

“I have to admit, after shooting for 23 years, this literally ‘kick started’ my vision again. It’s almost like having a new set of eyes. Erika & Lanny opened my mind, my eyes and my heart to feel and anticipate the moments before they happen. Almost like Jedi mind tricks. These two are Yoda.

If you are a seasoned pro or beginner, if you have the opportunity to do this, DO NOT even question it. It is worth every penny and more.”

Jeff Tisman

“I have been a professional photographer for 10 years and the amount of information I learned was mind-blowing. Erika & Lanny are incredible photographers, but more than that they are amazing educators. The way they teach, the vocabulary they use… it’s next-level. It was the best decision I’ve made for self improvement in years.”

“Well what is there to say? You just can’t get enough energy from these two! It’s like a drug. Erika & Lanny are truly masters at bringing out the best in you. It’s a must do! You owe yourself!

You don’t have to be a mom or a dad. That’s not the point. The point is that there’s something in your life worth noticing, celebrating, and capturing — a pet, a friend, a partner, a passion, a curiosity, or just the little things that make you smile, laugh, or stop in your tracks.

This workshop is for any age, any stage, any family. Think it’s too late? Think again. We get it—we wish we’d discovered this approach before our kids got big.

But it’s never too late to see the world with fresh eyes, capture what matters, and create a visual legacy. Every moment you’re alive is worth seeing and experiencing more deeply.

You’ve got the rest of your extraordinary ordinary life ahead of you. Oh, the photos you could make!

New curriculum. New focus. New production. New everything.

Metanoia was created specifically for professional wedding photographers.
Photography for Life was created for everyone else—including pros who want to turn the camera toward their own lives with more intention, presence, and meaning.

Metanoia = making the best photos of other people’s lives (weddings).
Photography for Life = making the best photos of your life.

Metanoia is about mastering the craft for paying clients.
Photography for Life is about reconnecting with your camera as a tool for awareness, gratitude, storytelling, and memory-making—whether you shoot professionally or not.

Because shooting a wedding is one thing.
Shooting your own real, messy, beautiful life is a completely different art.
Photography for Life is focussed entirely on that.

Nope! The whole point of this course is about photographing your current life with your current camera.

The techniques work with any camera—phone, mirrorless, or DSLR. The mindset shifts work with whatever camera you’ve got. And the eye of the photographer works without any camera at all.

It’s not just about operating your camera—it’s about what happens before you lift it to your eye… and after you put it down.

Listen, we get it. We’ve faced many similar situations in our life. Sometimes, it’s just not in the cards.

For what it’s worth, in dilemmas like this, we weigh two questions.
1. “Can we afford to do this?”
2 “Can we afford not to?”

When there’s no obvious answer, we look for two things:
• Reassurance — proof that it’s worth it
• An escape hatch — a refund guarantee

In this case, you’ve got both. Peace of mind, guaranteed.

If you’re on the fence, take us up on that guarantee. We truly mean it.

And don’t be afraid to reach out for a custom payment plan, if that helps.

The Extraordinary Ordinary workshop was fun.

But that didn’t even begin to scratch the tip of the Photography for Life iceberg. That free workshop was a blurry glimpse up to the sky—Photography for Life is a telescope to outer space. The sheer scope and production value alone is from a whole other stratosphere. But the real magic is in the methodically crafted arc of the Photography for Life learning experience. Extraordinary Ordinary gave you some software updates—Photography for Life is for a whole new operating system.

Basically, imagine Extraordinary Ordinary—but with real cameras, real lights, real shooting, real life, real moments, real mistakes, real problem-solving, real depth, and real understanding. Imagine us getting up off of our asses, grabbing our cameras and taking you with us to different locations. Actually watching us do what we do, in full HD multi-cam glory. Joining us behind the scenes for real life demos in our home and at our family cottage. Seeing right inside our viewfinders while we explain exactly what we’re noticing, thinking, and waiting for.

Imagine more tips, more deconstructions, more examples, more drills, more time—more everything. Imagine the untapped treasure trove we couldn’t even begin to unlock in a short, free workshop. And imagine being able to unpack it all at your own pace, over and over, for the rest of your life.

Imagine all of that, mixed together into a semester-long transformational mentorship—that is Photography for Life.

You’ve had Two Mann Lite—a pixelated view of the galaxy. Photography for Life zooms out to the whole universe (and then in for a telescopic ultra HD view of each and every galactic piece of the puzzle.

Don’t agree? Take us up on that guarantee!

We are getting a lot of questions from our beloved Metanoia alumni…
“What’s the deal with Photography for Life?
“How is it different?
“Is it for me?”

Totally fair questions. So here are the straight answers…

Did we make Photography for Life for you?

No. (But also… kind of yes.) For the first time in our entire career, we’ve created something that isn’t specifically geared toward professional photographers. That doesn’t mean you won’t love the absolute shit out of it. It just means it wasn’t designed exclusively for pros — or for wedding photographers — the way Metanoia was. So the real answer is: No, it wasn’t made for you… but it might still be exactly what you’re looking for right now.

How is it different?

New curriculum. New focus. New production. New everything.

Metanoia was built for professional wedding photographers.
Photography for Life was built for everyone else (and pros, too).

Metanoia = making the best photos of other people’s lives (weddings).
PFL = making the best photos of your own life.

Will you enjoy it?

If you loved Metanoia… there is ZERO chance you won’t love this.
Honestly — it’s just better.
Not because Metanoia wasn’t incredible, but because this new course is 100% aligned with where our hearts, creativity, and clarity are right now.
We’ve finally landed on a way to teach photography that feels truer, deeper, and more impactful than anything we’ve ever done. There’s no doubt in our minds that it’ll land right where ya need it (but you can probably skip the chapters on exposure and shooting in manual mode LOL).

Will you learn something new?

If you watched ALL of Metanoia (and recently)… then no, maybe not. You’ll hear a lot of familiar stuff… but differently (presented in new ways and with new perspectives). Will it reinforce things, give some ah-ha’s, rekindle something, refocus your creative purpose? Probably, yeah!

For what it’s worth, we’re already hearing from several Metanoia Alumni who have jumped in. They’re telling us they love it, and that they’re finding that PFL actually does a deeper/better dive into the documentary side of photography than Metanoia did.

Do you need this?

Maybe? Maybe not?
But you definitely want it. 🤪

We get it. We LOVED teaching in-person workshops. There’s something magic that happens when like-minded humans gather together in one space (and get blasted by a fire-hose of information for 3 exhausting days). LOL

What we’ve done with Photography for Life, is take all the energy, love, care and attention that we used to pour into our in-person workshops, and fired it straight into this. But rather than just merely replicate the magic of an in-person experience, we somehow managed enhance it, make it better—even more impactful.

With this online format, we’re able to do all kinds of things that were simply impossible at an in-person workshop. Without time constraints, we can dive even deeper into all kinds of content. Without geographical constraints, we can take you back-and-forth between lecture-style classes in the studio, and on-location learning in the field. Imagine trying to watch us shoot in this many different locations at an in-person workshop. And imagine trying to see right inside our viewfinders the whole time, like you can in these classes.

Instead of drinking from a firehose, this semester allows you the time and space to absorb and digest everything at your own pace (with or without your pants on).

Most exciting of all, we’re finally able to take you behind the scenes with us for actual, real-life documentary shooting. Imagine trying to do that at an in-person workshop.

And with the Photography for Life Community, we’ll be personally walking you through every step of the way, engaging with you face-to-face, answering all your questions as they come up, just like at an in-person workshop.

So even though there’s an indefinable magic about in-person workshops, Photography for Life makes up for it in ways we never imagined. Plus, think about how much money you’ll save by not flying halfway around the world.

Guess what—neither are we. And neither are most of our students. Photography for Life isn’t about summoning some mystical creative power—it’s about opening your eyes to what’s already there. You’ll see.

Too busy for another creative project—or anything else in your life right now?

The great thing about photography is that it’s not another “thing to do.” It’s really just the skill of seeing. You can practice it on the toilet, while sipping your coffee, or waiting in line at the grocery store (instead of doomscrolling).

It doesn’t take time—it gives it back.

With lifetime access, you’ve got all the time in the world.
